Exchange of Excellence with the University of Pittsburgh

The Center for Integrated Oncology Köln Bonn (CIO) and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Cancer Centres (UPMC) signed in June 2008 a memorandum of understanding during the "Exchange of Excellence" symposium in Pittsburgh.

Both institutions cooperate on several levels of cancer care through:

collaborations in basic cancer research
collaborations in clinical cancer research
career advancement opportunities for young talented scientists and physician scientists

Clinical elective programme

Within the career advancement programme there is the opportunity for Medicine students to have a 2 month clinical elective in Oncology at UPMC and the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, UPCI.
