Organisation Chart

The CIO Gastrointestinal Center is a joint project of four University Hospital-based clinical units (see organisational chart) and the outpatient’s department of gastroenterology and internal medicine (initiated 2009 by Dr. Stähler and colleagues).  An additional clinical network comprising of internal and regional  medical specialists, was established and is aimed to provide targeted health and medical services, related guidance and  advice as well as social support. The organisational chart shows all  current participating entities which make up CIO Gastrointestinal Center, and who have committed themselves towards  patient-centred team-work and collaboration.

In addition to the successful building of interdisciplinary cooperation and treatment structures, the existing CIO infrastructure is made of good organisational use. For example, our ‘patient navigators’ of the interdisciplinary CIO Outpatients Department, are one of the first points of contacts and available as reference persons for people with a malignant intestinal tumour.
