Diagnosis Cancer

Cancer – even today, this term more than any other, is associated with fears, concerns and negative emotions. To receive the diagnosis ‘cancer’ often means a significant turning point in one’s own aims in life and in relation to one’s life concepts and plans. The fear of pain, dependency, death and dying and the loss of people dear to one – these things often means more than just coping in such a situation.
In the following pages, we have compiled for you important information on different cancers.  CIO wants to help you to understand your own condition and how to live your life with your illness as actively and as self directed as possible. This information is aimed at providing you with the opportunity to ask specific  questions when visiting a doctor, thus being actively involved in your therapy and care. Representatives of patient self-help groups, experts in health communication and clinicians have had input in this overview in an advisory capacity. The following patient information material is being sponsored by the Dr. Werner Jackstädt Foundation.

We look forward to receive your questions, suggestions and critique. If you wish to contact us or provide feedback, please use our designated contact form.
