Which Tests will be Carried Out to Determine the Level of my Illness?

For  the optimal planning of your treatment,  we need to know which cancer you have and whether metastases have occurred.  This requires special examination to establish the so called "staging", including:

Your clinical appointments will be arranged by our Pilots. These are experienced nurses and are an important contact throughout your entire treatment. Our Pilots arrange all  appointment dates and facilitate the contact with psychologists, patient self-help groups and social work services. They explain the services offered by the LebensWert Association and will assist you and your relatives with advice as well as in practical ways. Furthermore, you will be given a business card with important contact details during your first visit.
During your initial appointment with the specialist for Lung Cancer, the  doctor treating you will discuss all results from previous medical tests and examinations given to you by your General Practitioner or Specialist. If necessary, additional examinations may be determined at that time. Prior to each examination, our experts will inform you about their necessity, benefit and possible side effects. The staff will give you ample time and opportunities to ask questions which are important to you. For this purpose, we have compiled questions in a separate chapter to assist you.
