Interdisciplinary Outpatient Cancer Service

The first point of contact in CIO for every patient is the interdisciplinary outpatient cancer service. Here, experts from all clinical entities involved in cancer management (e.g. diagnostics, therapeutics) are available for planning patients’ therapy regimens as well as providing specific medical advice. The outpatient cancer service is also responsible for coordinating the entire therapeutic processes provided in the University Hospital and the external clinical reference centres (e.g. private medical practices). This process ensures a reliable clinical framework for consistent and targeted diagnostics and therapy right from the beginning of the illness.

The CIO interdisciplinary outpatient cancer service is also used by patients, relatives and medical practitioners for specific advice, and to obtain a Second Opinion whenever there is uncertainty or a query about the diagnosis or treatment.
